Clear Plastic Cups & Straws

As part of our environmental policy, we only supply PLA biodegradable cups and straws. PLA bio-plastic is made from a totally renewable resource: plants. The plants used to make PLA will grow back annually. Conventional plastics are made from oil. Oil is a non renewable finite resource. The oil industry is also associated with various environmentally detrimental processes.

First, PLA disposal is carbon neutral. This is because PLA is made from plants which take carbon from the atmosphere during their growth. Any carbon emitted to the atmosphere on disposal has therefore been previously removed, neutralising its effect.

Second, the process through which PLA is made requires less energy than conventional plastics, so emits less carbon.

PLA is recyclable, compostable / biodegradable.
